Abstract: Aspects of Human Condition Reflected in Proverbs from Romania

The paper illustrates how the individual's social and cultural integration is reflected in proverbs used in Romania, integration seen under such forms as: learning processes, adapting to various situations, environments and times, socialization processes in their complex forms, the role played by different socializing agents, group and neighbour relations, status and role assumed by an individual. The author also presents relevant findings concerning the reflection in proverbs of the influence the social environment has on the individual's development and the manifestation of his personality on one hand and of the individual's contribution in transforming the society and in making possible the social progress on the other.
